First and foremost, Happy New Year everyone! Hope your 2009 was a memorable one. What a wonderful year it has been for me and for my company erica lyn photography. I thank so many of you for that and for entrusting me with capturing many of your important, intimate memories and welcoming me into your lives. As I wave good-bye to the past significant, eventful and life-changing decade, I welcome 2010 and all the wonderful new memories that will be created (many taken by camera of course), the new friends that’ll be made, the new projects that I’ll endeavor into and work on, and all the new opportunities that will present themselves unexpectedly and a few expected ones that I know are on their way. Their is so much to be thankful for and I cannot express in words how thankful I am for everything. Of course their are speed bumps big & small along the way, but as a true optimist would say, you have to see the glass half full, move one and keep plugging away. I second that and I would also add..and follow your heart, if you love something, embrace it. Don’t put it on the back burner, because eventually it’ll get lost somewhere in mumbo jumbo land aka life, responsibilities, obligations, work, family, bills, conflicts and the huge laundry list goes on. 10 years ago if you told me I would become a successful professional wedding photographer, I’d be like, “Ok, perhaps in a parallel universe..Yeah right!!!” That vision never once popped into my head. Believe it or not, my own wedding in January of 2003 was the very first wedding I ever went to. To date, I have done over 200+++ weddings since 2005..so go figure and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! lol I really do! Please don’t ever doubt yourselves in what you can or cannot do, in an idea or thought that seems far-fetched, in a road that would be imposible to travel on. Life is what you make of it, and with some attention, dedication, a little coddling and perhaps some sacrifice in the beginning, you can really be on to something great or even greater. My goals for this decade is to keep plugging away and building up the muscles of erica lyn photography as well as working on some new big projects that I have in mind. I embrace trying the something new, & something different. I want to explore this world even more, explore myself even further and nudge the boundaries little by little, even further, raising the glass ceiling even higher. I look forward to spending more quality family time as well and to take more time to appreciate the importance of friends & friendships. It’s so easy to get caught up in everything else. There are infinite possibilities. Day by day
This definitely wasn’t the abridged version of what I wanted to express in a blog and I actually can keep going on, easily..lol.. But I’ll end here. Thanks again really, for everything. Happy New Decade everyone! Cheers!
